“Before working with Faith I was stressed out ALL THE TIME thinking about all the things I wanted to say that I didn’t think I could say, and trying to find ways I could say it that resulted in inefficientness, which then caused confusion and thrash amongst the team internally.

After working with Faith it’s a clear path forward and anything that comes my way as an obstacle, I am able to move aside. I spend less time ruminating and stressing, which frees me up to think about executing and strategizing for the business.

I feel supported. We [have] honest and open conversations that offer whatever I need in the moment, that is either needing support, thought partnership, or skills development, while at the same time, I am being pushed on the things I don’t want to talk about, which are probably the things that are holding me back the most.”

“Before Faith I had never had individual coaching. I had team coaching, but in team coaching you can never go down to the bare bone. It took me a while to open up with Faith’s colleague. Once I knew this was a Zoom call of trust, then I learned something.

After working with Faith, for the first time ever I had someone with me to solve [business] problems, not by myself, and it was super helpful. In my work life, it helped me get things done, identify better which battles to fight and which ones not. The day only has 24 hours and you need to sleep. You could easily work 48 hours in a startup. This thought partnership helps you make strategic decisions. In the end, your personal life benefits too.

[Working with Faith] [put] things into perspective, and getting help when it is a very personal thing, [where] one is subjective, helped me get out of my personal view and see others’ sides. [She also taught me] how to still work with people and get the best out of them, [using tools like the] CUBE model and [addressing the] elephants in the room.

Just enjoying a routine with someone who knows me, my role, and the challenges I am facing, being a sounding board for whatever it might be, a teammate, a relationship with my boss… and when you like each other, then this magic can happen.

I had the feeling I could talk; she is an active listener, and then she says, “Hold on a minute,” and dissects the problem. [She] was always spot on, and that helps me find a way to solve, work on, or improve on it. This happened often. She would be working together with me. Thanks to her doctor title, university education, and business experience, you go deep into the psychology and into the person you are working with. This is very rare.”

“[Before working with Faith] the wheels of progress weren’t spinning. The rubber wasn’t catching. Faith has been able to bring traction and forward momentum to [my] ideas. She made ideas actionable.

[Through our structured time together I’ve been able to] evaluate [business] growth objectives and challenges to think through alternatives and problem solving issues to get to better solutions. It is all enmeshed. Faith has been able to connect with [me] as a person and help me grow and be well.  If you are looking for a coach, look no further. Faith is the quarterback of the landscape in front of you and that is the immense benefit. YES!”

“Everyone I would go to for advice were biased based upon the fact they knew me and had buy-in. I did not have an unbiased thought partner, and this is frustrating and I was stressed out. [Faith helped me] identify [my] blindspots and then rethink problems. [She] is focused and tunnel-visioned, and open[s] up the field around you and the methodologies. [She also helped me] strategiz[e] and think outside the box when [I had] hard problems.

[Through Faith I learned how to] drive buy-in and influence, learning how to get the outcome I was looking for. I can get my VC to listen better at this point. He was able to understand our issue and be more helpful with his advice.

Getting out of tunnel vision and [identifying] blindspots helped [me] to get a B-player on Head of Sales to fire that person who was hurting our culture. I was able to take the hit in order to find the right hire that would be better in the long run. Strategizing [with Faith] preserved a collateral sales relationship and established Filmhub as a stronger partner, a customer who now sees more value from us.

[There is] more levity now working with Faith.  [She] allows me a zone of comfort, a safe space, where I can spill anything. I can reach my inner fears, and [she] is great at pulling those out of [me].”

“Before working with Faith, I didn’t realize I was a leader, what that meant, and what my words meant to people. I didn’t think before I spoke. I used to make big violations of HR principles. A hard-core engineer is not a leader, just a hard-core engineer. I was oblivious to the art of dealing with people. Leadership was a topic I was never trained on, and working with Faith has taught me this leadership plan to close gaps I was working on. Having someone in your corner to discuss things, bounce ideas, and deal with people issues that become a large part of your role as a company scales.  I have improved in my dealings with the board. The interviews with the board and their feedback was invaluable.

Having a coach [who has worked] with high-performance people before, and [has] see[n] the pitfalls, is helpful to have warnings pointed out. I am reminded that I need more sleep [and] not to work late at night, etc. I am less burnt out. Faith is a coach!  [She is] watching it happen and suggesting things to improve the performance. Your coach will tell you, “Slip this jab, [because] you are getting jabbed!” Coach in the corner is the best analogy.

Faith is a psychologist and [has] a background which I like! I like her scientific approach and neuroscience knowledge. [She] give[s] positive feedback instead of being a drill sergeant, but not super rosy all the time. [She’s] not General Patton. Compassion is strong.

I would recommend this to anybody!”

“Before working with Faith, things were trial and error without good feedback. I had a team of 16 and now I have a team of 60. I wasn’t actively seeking feedback as frequently as I needed and I was trying to address problems in a vacuum. I would bumble around on Google searches to solve problems. I had zero personal goals outside of the business. I didn’t have challenging conversations. I was much more concerned the business would outscale me and I would lose my seat at the table. I lost sight of my longer-term goal of starting my own company in the future.

After working with Faith, I feel I have confidence in my ability to scale, to have hard conversations when I need to, and confidently lead senior executives. We uncovered blind spots and things I was missing in my leadership that are now revealed so I can address them. I now feel much more comfortable that I am not missing something. I arrive at solutions faster, knowing where to look and figuring out how to solve problems more efficiently. I can accurately estimate the size of the fires that I previously didn’t know. I work on things now I would have avoided.

This is the first time working with a coach I actually like and developed a close relationship with. I have someone in my corner that actually knows what the hell they are doing. Faith pushes me on things I don’t want to work on and helps me process issues and decide what to do with them, like a sanity check. I don’t think I could have gone from Head of Engineering to CTO at Dandy without Faith.”

“Before working with Faith I experienced anxiety, depression and loneliness. I lived in a place of fear that made it harder to do the task at hand that was already really difficult. It was hard to relate to others. [Faith’s] coaching helped me feel connected, and to have the tips and tricks to succeed: the playbooks for how to deal with specific situations. She helped me to move a lot quicker and knock it out quickly and made this part of the job more efficient and effective. Faith was so multidimensional, I could come [to her] with a board meeting, an employee convo or a panic attack and [she’d help me] get back into the room.”

"The centerpiece of Dr. Faith Cohen's intervention was a series of face-to-face meetings with her.  Initial meetings were with Square One’s management where she asked the tough, probing questions needed to develop an in-depth understanding of company’s unique business model. Dr. Cohen then met with Square One’s employees.  She very quickly established a positive connection with the team and facilitated a productive, free-wheeling discussion of the difficult topics that, up until then, we’d all been reluctant to confront. As a result of our work with Dr. Cohen, Square One now has a lucid, concise Mission Statement."

"I am extraordinarily fortunate to have met Faith Cohen while my new company was going through Techstars in Boulder. I was floundering in my role.  Her coaching opened my eyes to what was holding me back and helped me push through it.   Working with Faith was different from anything else I have experienced.  She integrated traditional coaching with trauma-release techniques to clear the cobwebs in my head and give me back my passion and optimism for change. I am still in awe about how simple, but powerful, her work is."

"As a new entrepreneur surrounded by the best and brightest minds in the world of startups, I felt a deep sense of being an imposter in my role as a CTO. Dr. Cohen helped me identify and embrace my unique gifts as a leader rather than focusing on my own perceived shortcomings. Dr. Cohen is both an executive coach and a clinical psychologist which gave her deep and unique insight into not only the immediate challenges I was facing as an executive and entrepreneur, but also into my personal history and the workings of my brain. These insights were invaluable in helping me chart a course for my career, my company and my life."
